Mondays are my day to come home early and spend the afternoon with little j. Over the last 2 1/2 years we have been planning and cooking dinners together on and off. For Christmas little j received The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, so she has been particularly excited about cooking. Last week we made the Lightly Season Broiled Chicken Drumsticks (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, chapter 27), mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach.
This week we are making Breaded Pork Chops (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, chapter 23) and Potatoes Baked in Their Jackets (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, chapter 10), and some vegetable (carrots? sauteed chard?).
It's been fun looking through the recipes and remembering the scenes around meals. little j is particularly excited about making pumpkin juice. And we are even talking about having a themed party for her friends, which would be very cool. We even have our own Snuffles!

That sounds like fun! I love cooking with Henry. Question about Harry Potter series: I've never read any of the books and kind of just want to wait now until I can read them with the boys...how old do you think H should be before I try?
